My name is Martin Kirwan, Ironman Coach, Kona 2018 Qualifier, 8 time Ironman, Personal Trainer and I am Focus on Fitness.
Many personal trainers will start by telling you how they have been into sport and fitness from a young age; successful and focused, athletes with podium credentials. My path to fitness, Ironman and Ironman Coach came later in life.
Throughout my twenties a poor diet and lack of exercise resulted in my weight creeping up to eighteen stone. In 2004 unhealthy and unhappy I made the life changing decision to train for the Dublin City Marathon.
I have completely transformed my life, and now health and fitness are a central part of my existence. I love training and enjoy pushing my body to achieve new goals. I believe that with dedication and focus everyone can achieve success. This is the philosophy that I use when working with all my clients. I never tell someone they cannot reach a certain goal as I have found that with focus and commitment there are no limits to what we can achieve. I get such satisfaction from seeing people start from scratch and slowly build themselves up and I firmly believe that with the correct support and the right attitude you can do anything you want to do.
