We are getting closer to Le Raid Pyrénéen cycle trip 2019, so we thought now would be a nice time to introduce you to the people coming along with Focus on Fitness. We are so excited, especially after the success of the Lanzarote triathlon trip last month. So far, we have 6 people on the trip, with 2 remaining spots… are you tempted? We like to keep these trips on the smaller size to ensure everyone gets the most out of the time away! This trip takes place on August 11th 2019 for 5 unforgettable days, cycling coast to coast across the Pyrenees.
Highlights of Le Raid Pyrénéen Cycle Trip 2019:
- Complete iconic climbs from the Tour De France, including the Col du Tourmalet.
- Cycle across the Pyrenees, starting at the Atlantic Ocean, and finishing at the Mediterranean Ocean.
- Discovering local food and visiting stunning towns along the route.
So, in no particular order, let’s meet the gang…
John Gleeson
John has been cycling for 6 years. In this time, he has taken on some incredible challenges from the Mizen to Malin cycle over 3 days, to a 6 day cycling trip in the French Alps. John is big fan of endurance cycling, which is his main reason for taking on ‘Le Raid Pyrénéen’.
Shane Power
Shane has been cycling all of his life, on and off! Throughout this time, he has taken part in many cycling events, including the Sean Kelly and the An Post Race. Shane is most looking forward to experiencing the incredible Pyrenees, while also getting to spend some time on the bike… dream combo!
Val Brooks
Val has been cycling for 3 years now, but has accomplished a lot in that time. He has completed a full Ironman, 70.3, and some Sportives. When we asked Val why he was taking on ‘Le Raid Pyrénéen’, his response was… ‘Honestly, I don’t have a clue’. We are looking forward to hearing your thoughts after the trip Val!!
Sean Levey
Sean has been cycling for over 10 years. Sean has taken on multiple sportives in Ireland, and some in France. He has some unfinished business in the Pyrenees, so has been waiting for the opportunity to make the trip back. Sean is looking forward to taking on this challenge, and spending some time up in the mountains.
Tom Foran
Tom is looking forward to the challenge of Le Raid Pyrénéen. Having cycled for 10 years, he has completed many challenges to date, including the Sean Kelly, Ironman Copenhagen, and Ironman 70.3 Mallorca. We are looking forward to taking on this newest challenge with you!
David Connolly
David is the shy one of the group… we will keep you updated!
Martin Kirwan
So a little bit about myself… I have been cycling since 2004. I have completed 9 Ironman distances in this time, the last being the Ironman World Championships last year. The reason I have decided to start this trip is based on the success of the Lanzarote Training Camp that I have done over the last 2 years. There is no better feeling than training abroad. Le Raid Pyrénéen is a spectacular experience, and one I am looking forward to taking the bunch above on… bring on August!!
There are still 2 place left on this trip… for more information check out our Le Raid Pyrénéen cycle trip 2019 information page, or feel free to get in touch with us directly!
